Actors/Puppeteers/Magicians 

After our successful event 'The Wizard Express' with the Severn Valley Railway we are looking to expand our cast and characters for our May 2020 event.

This coming May sees our next event and we are looking for trained Puppeteers/ Storytellers/Ventriloquists to join our magical cast in this fantastic family immersive event.

If you are or know of anyone who has experience using a variety of animatronic or moving puppets then please do get in touch. We are also open to other storytellers/ actors who are willing to become a character and learn the part/ puppeteering. Improvisation skills a must.

It will be for a created character and animatronic puppet on our trains to and from the station running 3 times a day for 4 days. More information can be given upon application. This is a contracted paid post in the WV16 area. Transport is crucial to due to location of Event.

CREATIVE ARTS HOLIDAY CLUB LEADERS

We are currently looking for reliable, enthusiastic and passionate Creative Arts Club leaders for our popular holiday clubs - we often work in partnership with other companies so you may find yourself working at a shopping centre delivering drop in sessions or you may be at one of our Leisure Centre sites in collaboration with Halo Leisure running a sports and creative arts holiday club, where Halo will lead the sport element or maybe a little out of the ordinary, you could be working at the famous 'Engine House' In Highley, where we are creative partners for Severn Valley Railway. Sessions at the Engine House are always lots of fun and all of your resources will be provided.

Our holiday clubs are lots of fun, where anything under the creative arts banner goes - one day you could be building a pirate ship ready to sail the seven seas, the next day you could be planning the 'Greatest Show' of all time with your circus skills or maybe even heading off to solve a mystery as a detective or directing your own movie...with this in mind it is essential that our club leaders are able to think on their feet and adapt the session to suit the children attending. 

Our main age range is primary but we do often work with pre school age too.  Those with specific skills may be called upon to host skilled sessions for older students. 

If you have specific skills such as circus skills, dance, drama, art, photography, movie making etc,  there is a chance we can host a specific workshop for you to share your skills with our holiday club participants. 

Holiday Clubs usually run - February Half Term, Easter Holidays, May Half Term, Summer Holidays and October Half Term with other ad hoc days too. 

Essential:

  • You must be over 18 for this role

  • A DBS on the update system

    • we can arrange this at your own cost, if you do not have one.

  • Child Safeguarding certificate

    • We can provide links to where to obtain this, we do currently have access to a free course but this is not guaranteed.

  • First Aid certificate 

    • We can provide links to where to obtain this

  • Experience of working with children with 2 contactable references. 

Preferred:

  • Qualifications in a creative arts subject or as a child care assistant/ play leader.

  • Your own Speaker System will be required at some settings 

Pay Rate:

Pay is above minimum wage and dependent on experience and also the event at which you work.

DANCE AND MUSICAL THEATRE AFTER SCHOOL CLUB LEADERS

We are currently looking for experienced, reliable, enthusiastic and passionate DANCE and MUSICAL THEATRE teachers as cover teachers and possible ongoing contracts for after school clubs and workshops in Shropshire particularly Bridgnorth and Welshpool areas.
