Classes return week of January 13th
Half term - Feb 24th-29th - No Classes (but we are running 3 days of holiday club at the Leisure Centre)
SAVE THE DATE - Saturday July 4th - Time TBC but will be after lunch.
ReachOut School of Arts - Superstar Awards Party - all the family are welcome and tickets will be on sale nearer to Easter.
For this first term, we will be working on skills for performance and creativity.
Our Spotlight students will be working towards a cabaret style performance as they will form the entertainment at our awards afternoon
Sunday June 28th - we will be coming together again (hopefully not as soggy this time) to be in the parade in Bridgnorth Carnival…..our Theme will be Dr Seuss - The Grinch, Hoo’s, Lorax, Cat in the hat etc - with the main colour theme being Red and White…..so if you spot anything that would work as a costume idea keep it somewhere safe!
Sunday 23rd February - nearly 30 students will be heading to perform at the New Alex. Theatre in Birmingham.
Tuesday 3rd March.- Our 2nd Stage Street Dancers (Those who have already signed up) will be performing at Theatre Severn in a dance performance with other schools from the area. Showing a slightly shorter version of their Christmas Show Nutcracker routines.
We have decided on our Christmas show for 2020 - you can save the date for that too - Sunday 13th December! We will be announcing what it is in the new year and everyone will once again be invited to be involved, this year it will be a little different whereby it will be a full production rather than a showcase- with those in Spotlight taking on the lead roles and all other classes forming our all important chorus - there are lots of smaller parts too in this that can be cast across any creative theatre class too, so plenty of opportunity! Auditions for lead characters will take place before the Summer break during Spotlight classes- anyone 6-18 years is welcome to audition for a lead role providing you can attend the Friday class to rehearse.
We also have possible external master teachers coming in for additional workshops - we will let you know when we know more on that.
We are still following syllabus for our RSL/PAA exams which some of you took last Easter, as the skill level has such a high jump between some of the grades we have decided to offer these bi annually to make sure everyone is fully prepared - therefore our RSL exams will be held in 2021. As of September we will be introducing an exciting new Street dance programme which will lead on to offer RAD exams - more on that closer to the time. In the meantime you can still get rewarded for your progress with our exciting new progress badge system.
Classes next term:
Please note: We have now changed our age range slightly in classes to reflect the school year, this means that moving up to Juniors or Seniors will happen with the school year. Those of you who are already in Juniors or seniors who don’t quite match up with this new range will not be effected - this will be for any changes or new starters coming in as of January.
Juniors & First stage street will be for Reception - year 2!
Seniors & 2nd stage street will be for Year 3 +
Everyone will be re-enrolled into their current classes - if you will be no longer attending a class or wish to add an additional class please do let us know via email.
We will be closing down the admin for ReachOut on Friday 20th December, but please rest assured there are plenty of spaces for those of you who are currently students, so if you have requested a space in a new class we will make sure you have a space. We will check emails briefly on January 3rd in preparation for the first Birmingham rehearsal on Sunday Jan 5th and then we will be open again properly as of January 6th 2020.
We can’t wait for 2020, after the success of the Christmas show we are super excited to see what you can all achieve in the next year - there is so much more than mentioned above too but for now, we will let you get your heads around all of the above and enjoy your Christmas and New Year!
Thankyou for your continued support!
Gem, Saskia and the ReachOut Team!
